Okay, I find it amusing that people are referring to Billy Mays as "number four."

Ed McMahon was an icon, the ultimate sidekick/second banana, who's "Heeeeere's Johnny!" became a part of the lexicon in so many ways.

Farrah Fawcett was an icon, the ultimate sex symbol of her time, a woman who helped the cause of both battered women and cancer patients.

Michael Jackson was an icon, a musical innovator and one of the best-selling musical acts the planet has ever seen.

Billy Mays was a loud guy on a commercial. HARDLY an icon. HARDLY number four on this list. Sorry, no. The only way he would ever even belong on a list with the other three if it was preceded by the question, "Which one doesn't belong here?"

You know as well as I that the #4 refers to in one week, not in status.

Granted, he wasn't the icon that the other three were, but he was still a celebrity in his own right.

I guess we have different definitions of celebrities and if they should be included in this "list."

A lot of people knew who Billy Mays was because 9 times out of 10, you sit and watch television for at least an hour, you'll see him in a commerical. Even the kids at VBS yesterday were talking about the "loud guy" passing away. Anyhow, this is a silly thing to talk about anyway. RIP to all those who have died the past week, whether they were "worthy" of being on a list or not.

If it's about numbers - actually I'd say that Billy Mays was number 5 as David Carradine died a couple days before Ed McMahon. I didn't know who Fred Travalena was - but maybe if he's number 6 - we can hope it's OVER.

RIP Plaidman - you are loved & greatly missed.

I wonder if they'll be an autopsy done on Billy Mays though . . . his death seems rather sudden, even if he was bumped in the head the day before during an emergency plane landing.
According that what I read, he had an enlarged heart.
              I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.
