    Found on My3Cents.com in response to a TRU employee vent on customers:

    There is no such thing as an annoying or stupid customer. The customer, all customers, make it possible for you to have a job that you claim to love. Business is about business and you cannot make it personal. So long as the customer is buying who freakin cares about their attitude or their manners. The fact a customer CAN ruffle your feathers speaks volumes to your own disposition and attitude. Holy smokes lighten up a little.
    Holy smokes. There are some real gems in there aren't there?

    The whole 'you wouldn't have a job without us'

    The customer's attitude doesn't matter (though I'm sure the cashier's attitude matters to them)

    And my personal favorite: instructing him not to "make it personal" and to "lighten up a little"

    I would LOVE to tell that guy not to "make it personal" once he's got someone spitting on his face in anger, getting in his personal space and insulting him in every way possible from this looks to his mother just for doing his job.

    People like THIS. SHEESHHHHHH!

    And I bet by this time tomorrow, the person who wrote that will have been Flamed to a crisp by people that have actually worked retail and seen/dealt with Sucktomers.

      Er, I'm fairly sure no-one in retail claims to love their job. Probably due to total asshats like the person posting that.

            Man, I had a look and there's people there who are pointing out that because he didn't bother to write his article "correctly" that he deserves to get flamed...
            I couldn't find the comment...

            But still, some of them had a mild point. Respect is a two-way street. As long as you can do your best, follow store policies to the point where you can and that you don't get snappy at polite customers, then there should be no reason why you get flamed for being rude.
