Okay, seriously. Wasn't the last time a ridiculous charge was put on someone's card ALSO at a gas station? Is there just some jinx involving debit and gas stations?

Last time it was a Paypal card.

I'd be curious as to whether it was a Paypal Visa or MC. If Visa, perhaps there's something going on with their system.

Also makes you wonder how many of these *aren't* making the news.

I'm glad I pay my gas with cash. I have a set amount I can spent per week, and that's what I put in the car. Exception is when I'm taking a road trip, then I figure the mileage in advance, and work out about how much I should need. My debit only gets used for bills. Keeps my budget on track.
