  • Warhammer 40K Movie!

    http://www.ultramarinesthemovie.com/

Was announced Yesterday at Games Day.

Since I'm such a Warhammer 40K nut, I should be really excited about this, but I'm not.

    1. Ultramarines - Goddamn Poster boys, pick another chapter for a change not some goody two shoes, codex following smurfs.

    2. The company that is doing it previously did...bionicle...I just don't think they'll be able to best capture the grim dark and ultraviolent nature that a space marine movie should involve.

    3. It's supposedly a Sci Fi Thriller, why oh why, when any Space Marine movie should be at least Sci Fi balls to the wall action.

Guess I'll just have to see how it turns out, but at least its a start by having a movie made.

Aye, but a bad one (if it turns out so) will kill any chance of future movies in the genre. Hollywood's done it before.

Well, there has been one other, albeit short movie made by Games Workshop in the 80's, back when 40K was a bit cheesy, which is somewhat reflected in the movie itself, another thing is that it was also live action. Although, if the movie is made to the Quality of the two Dawn of War Intro's, it should be good.

Here's links to the live action mini movie:

      Part 1

      Part 2

      Part 3

      Part 4

Part 4 is my favourite simply because it has Space Wolf Terminators.

You know they had to go UM because they're the brand. I don't like it much either, (personally, I prefer IG), but I want the series to survive long enough to get to other chapters/races/armies.
What say we start a petition for Grey Knights in the next movie?

You know, in that fourth link, I don't think a Berserker would ever say "Blood for the Blood God" without spewing fifteen flavors of phlegm. But that's just me
I have a...thing. Wanna see it?

Then again it was the 80's, Chaos Orks!

I'd actually love a BoB style Imperial Guard series, following, say the Tanith 1st.

can't wait to see clips of it. I dont know if it will be good or not. If the UK has any influence on it it should be half decent (I am a fan of UK tv shows). so we'll have to see.
