Horrible side effect to flu vaccine!

I never would have expected this; developing a neurological disorder from a severe reaction to a flu shot. What a freak occurence!

This was known beforehand though. They have clinical studies about that. But that goes to fratching.

Many vaccines can have serious negative side effects. Many times you need to weigh the risks of the side effects against the risks of the disease.

Personally - I don't get flu shots. I just up my vitamin C intake during flu season and up it even more if I think I'm at risk (BTW - the price of vitamin C has skyrocketed!!).

You wanna talk about horrible side effects, the side effects from one of the meds they are giving out as a treatment for the flu are Nausea and in rare cases abdominal pain and diarrhea.

I came down with it myself and I will say it came at me out of nowhere. At work I started having a raspy and dry throat, but I work in a call center and talk all day, so I thought no big deal. Had some trouble breathing on the way home and then that night woke up middle of the night with a 103(not quite 40 for you Celsius folks) fever and feeling like I'd been beaten up (aka body aches all over).

For anyone else that does get it some things I have found helpful: Starchy foods esp Bread(toast) helps kick the nausea from the meds as does Orange Juice. I'm a Tylenol person for headaches but Ibuprofen has worked loads better for the body aches.

Contrary to what these "experts" say, you CAN get the flu from a flu shot. When I was in the active military I was required to get a flu shot every year & for the longest time whenever I got a flu shot, I got sick as a dog. So I'd go to the medics & be diagnosed with the flu!! Took some time for my body to get used to the flu shots.

I would expect some people might get a case of the flu or flu-like symptoms from the shot, but geeze, a neurological disorder!? I just never thought that could happen.
