  • Sometimes it is a good idea to show that receipt

    http://consumerist.com/2010/03/why-w...y-receipt.html

Long story short, person sets off the alarm at Walmart as he's leaving, but rather than stop and show his receipt, he acts like a jerk to the LP people and doesn't show the receipt. He shows it to the the police who happen to be there and gets a trespass order written against him.

Yeah, I know that bitching about showing receipts is a hot topic, but really? If you set off the alarm, just show it. I know there have been times when Da Dairy Druid and I set off the alarms at Best Buy, but we usually get waived through because the person who sees us leave just saw us at the checkstand.

Most of the comments seem to be for keeping the guy banned. Definitely an EW.

Sheesh, what a moron. It's not that hard to show the receipt and the more you resistant you are to showing it, the more suspicious it looks. DUH!

I've had the alarm go off a couple of times when I'm on my way out from Walmart. Most of the time, it's because the item you would never think of having an RFID tag, or I used the self check out and the sensor doesn't get deactivated. It does happen.
