Despite the silly nature of the instruction, this page is rather helpful. I never knew how to use a semi-colon properly.

LOL that's one of my favorite comics because it's such great information presented in a funny way. The sad thing is that I have a B.A. in English but still occasionally sneak a peek at that comic because I get confused about the semicolon sometimes.

The spelling page actually starts out with the usage error that bugs me the most;* "loose" for "lose".
As for myself, I'm really trying to break myself of typing "a lot" as one word. I suppose somewhere along the line, I used to know that it was actually two words, and am not sure how I got in the habit of making it one, and thinking that was the correct way. But, thanks to having that brought up somewhere in the last month or so, I've been trying to remember the proper form.
*The semicolon segment was recently posted on another Forum I regularly visit, and I checked it out at that time. I have long been confused by semicolons, and after reading that, am still quite confused, although I got a bit of clarification from it. Need to study it more, to better, and hopefully fully understand proper semicolon usage. I sincerely hope, the usage above was proper. If not, my apologies.
