And a bit....cold. I hate white walls and cannot stand wood floors. I like carpet, keeps my feetsies warm.

Ya'll would like the magazine Dwell. A lot of these pictures are from there. My fiance is way into modern design--he just about died when we went to his boss's house, which was featured in Dwell a few years back.

I can't stand homes that don't look lived in! One of the things I like best about my current house: no white walls! Well, except in the downstairs bathroom. But all of the other walls are soft blues, greens, etc. The kitchen is a sort of goldenrod with some deep red accents. LOVE IT.

Ooooh...that sounds pretty! My bedroom, office, and kitchen are 'taupe' or whatever that general color is, but the living room is a very pale violet and the bathroom is a light brown. That wouldn't have been my first choice, but I'm glad there's at least some variation.

the room i used to occupy in my parents house is still the way i painted it: sand yellow walls, sky blue ceiling, and a palm tree between the windows. white is evil! and boring...

Interesting designs. Some are a little too sterile, some very impractical, but definitely not same-old same-old.
