I admit to #2, but only at Cracker Barrel! They have the best syrup! The last time I was there, they were out of the ones I could buy. *sniffles sadly*

Other than that, it's a pretty low-key list.

Near as I can figure, because of the iodine and other additives in it that were added after, it renders the salt "impure", and unsuitable for koshering, which requires a "pure" salt. Kosher salt is simply the most commonly used type of salt in the process, hence the name.
      Kosher salt has larger crystals.

Cracker Barrel has changed their syrup. It used to be all-maple; now it's about half cane.

I have a couple bottles left of the old kind, and it does taste different.

Pure maple versus impure maple is a notable difference.

It baffles me that anyone can have had real pure maple syrup and be ok with anything else after.

How long ago was that? Because it certainly has been a while since my last visit.

I have no idea. I don't go often, and hardly ever get the pancakes, not because they're not good but because they leave me still hungry.

I'll join the teasing - the maple tree in my parents backyard resulted in watery syrup. Why? Because if we boiled it down strong enough the maple flavour was too overpowering.

My dad, actually prefers the artificial table syrup (I think he likes the 15% stuff). He grew up in Manitoba, and that's the stuff he's used to, so that's the stuff he likes.
