  • Nice car, but I need a JOB, YOU MORON!

    Get this.

Very brief synopsis of the backstory: looking for new job for girlfriend in HR sector, expanded search from San Antonio to major TX cities, sending out resumes locally until she says it's okay to do it statewide. In Craigslist's HR job postings section for Dallas, I ran into this: a listing for an '06 Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

Now, I'm used to seeing ads posted in Craigslist that should go in other sections ('for hire' in the 'help wanted' sections, for example), but this is so far out of the yard that I had to bring it up.
My other car is a Mackinaw.

That's odd, I ran into a nearly identical ad in the jobs section for Philly.

I have to assume there is some kind of scam.

Maybe, maybe not. Of course, eliminating the scam possibility only leaves the chance that people aren't paying attention to what section their ads go in.

Yeah; and heaven forbid you try and put a hamster up for adoption! They take the listing down in 5-minutes (even though the site rules say you can adopt out animals).

Since they did put pictures there, I would guess someone put it in the wrong section. However, I do notice many CL job ads are just copy/pasted from other ads with a different contact (usually freemail or anonymous) added on. Those are scams.

Yeah, if it's not that, sometimes you see misplaced genres of jobs in the ads. I.e. human resources gig for call center jobs. The car is nice except for the spoiler and blue color, IMO.
