  • Watching the Border

    http://www.blueservo.net/vcw.php

Basically you can watch various high-crime spots on the border and report suspicious behavior to the Texas authorities.

The 20 cameras all are pointed at various spots, listing them as high-crime areas or known drug traffic areas.

At night it switches to night vision - though i find it's easier to view the feed by inverting the colors on my computer. (Macs let you do that - control-option-command-8 to toggle the colors)

I saw this on CNN a few years ago, I believe in the wake of the "Minutemen" controversy. I watched for five minutes. I wonder if anyone has ever reported anything?

yes they have a page of successful hits:

      http://www.blueservo.net/sightings/index.php

and from the archives, they've posted whether or not it was from one of the online-viewers

and i've already made reports on 2 views today:

      - one had a truck sitting there, eventually i saw a person walking around. not sure if the authorities did anything. they did at least notice it cos they moved the camera around.

      - another one had a truck with individuals moving around and loading it up. actually i'm still watching that one. someone moved another camera around so hopefully there's someone watching there. i sent off a couple of reports with the details & updates. i'll send a last one in if the truck leaves the scene.

also i've reported a few things
first you get back the generic email from the system

but i've also gotten direct emails too

either notifying me that authorities were alerted
or that the people i was reporting were the authorities

(but hey they did say report anyone moving lol)

I think it's cameras 16 and 17: there are cattle grazing in the area and it's a bit weird to see them glowing white.
          Random conversation:
Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
          DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.
