  • Photos from the HP DH epilogue

I would warn about spoilers, but if you've read the book, you already know what to expect, right?

Includes Ginny and Harry bringing their first child to Platform 9 3/4, and pics of some of the other children.

EDIT: There's also a large gallery that appears to include Draco's son, among others:

you know you've been working with electronic equipment for too long
when you read "HP" and you think "Hewlett Packard"

    but hey... nice photos
amazing how much older you can make someone look with the right makeup
except emma... she looked more in her mid 20s than her mid 30s.

if you saw some of the other photos that got taken that day at King's Cross (by fans who by chance were there), it looks like Dan and Rupert are in their late 40's not late 30's as in the book. a lot of people thought they aged them a little too much

My thought was "They're supposed to be my age...do I look that old??"

Now with Ginny (Bonnie Wright) I thought she looked nearly right. a bit frumpy (like her mother) but still good looking aging makeup just right

Rupert's nose just looks weird in some of the shots.

Draco's wispy little goatee and stash just is not right.

I hope they will correct some things in post when the movie is released 13 months form now

Draco looks closer to 50 than 30-ish in those shots. Dang, was he ill or on drugs or what? And Ron's looking older than he should, too. Frazzled.

Harry, Ginny and Hermione looked just about right, though.

One must remember that when filming stuff you have to wear very heavy make-up since some of the details will be "erased" by the lighting on the set. So I don't think it'll look that dramatic once the movie is out.

Another theory states that this has already happened.

Yep. Stage makeup looks hella weird in normal lighting conditions, especially age makeup and especially if they used latex prosthetic pieces. On a similar note, the DVD for La Vie En Rose has a special feature just on Marion Cotillard's makeup. Very interesting!

Just curious, but what does platform 9 3/4 have to do with Handley-Page and DeHaviland aircraft?

I didn't think film makeup was as heavy as theatrical stage makeup. But then, I've never made any movies.

It depends mostly on the lighting setup and how much post work the director wants to do. Stage makeup (especially for age) depends heavily on highlight and shadow. Under stage lighting it looks amazing. Under normal lighting, it looks freakin' weird.

Movie make up can actually be worse, depending on where the shooting is done. If on a set, the lighting can be controlled, but if on location, it can sometimes be tricky. They can always adjust some of it post production and you don't want to have to go back and fix it months from now and reshoot. Better to go a little overboard and adjust than not go far enough.

But yeah, my guess is that once it's on film, the make up won't look NEARLY as weird!
