BB trying to fire employee for making a video that doesn't even mention them at all:

Edit to add that the video has some language, so NSFW

    ROFL Those vids are great!

But really? Unless he made the vids on company time, Best Buy has no reason to fire him. As the article said, without the media attention, no one would know it was a Best Buy employee behind the vids. If they're so scared about associating themselves with the vids, then they just shot themselves in the foot by making a mountain out of a molehill.

They're tying to fire the guy for doing the same thing we do here all the time: insulting customers via social media. He just happened to get caught.

Best Buy has the right to fire him, but I don't think it's the right thing to do.

      Also, what are "jiggahertz"?

Firing people for 'Social Media' is becoming a new thing.

The company I work for recently had all employee's sign a 'Social Media' policy clause.

I didn't think much of it until later I reread it, was kinda WTF!?!?!?!

In basic sense if a employee addresses that he works for said company on a social media grounds and the personal views expressed are not those that of the company, you can be fired. Even something like If I were to go on facebook, say I work for <insert company name> and then make posts saying "F this place" or so on. If someone on the corporate level sees that, I can be fired. . . it feels like 1950's McCarthyism all over again.

No company wants to have their name in a bad light, especially from employees, so I can see why they have that social media clause and the like, but personally I think it's a load of shit.

Well, if they are gonna fire him, they better get busy and do it before the place ceases to exist and they miss their last big chance to throw their weight around.

That's why I've never said who I work for here in the public forum (at least I don't think I have).

The hard part is now they can easily link you to other profiles. Like your Facebook address (your real name is linked to it) can have the same name as a forum or other social media...
