    That makes me sad.

      And don't call me Shirley . . .

      A sad loss, indeed.

        He was so funny.

        How sad that he's gone.

        He was Canadian, too.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

He was a great actor, and not just a comic actor. He was wonderful in the classic "Forbidden Planet" (I finally watched that a few months ago). He was pretty darn good in any role he took... even if the rest of the movie was crap. He never half-assed a role.

          Rest in peace, Mr. Nielsen.

One of my favorite actors. Can't imagine how much fun it will be in the next world. So many great comedians there, may never get to stop laughing.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

He was the only good thing in Scary Movie 3 and 4.

It's so creepy. I was just watching Airplane the other day

As a highschooler, I must've watched the Naked Gun series about a dozen times...

Not only FORBIDDEN PLANET but TV show like THE WILD WILD WEST and HAWAII FIVE-O. Then he switched to comedy for MASH and the AIRPLANE movies and it just seemed so natural for him.

Truly one of the greats, we won't see his like again anytime soon...

Leslie "Don't call me Shirley" Nielson passes away

                      http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies....dies-age-84-ap

I've only known him since "Airplane!" but he's had a long career in Hollywood, one that spanned several generations, and he'll be remembered for a couple more generations before fading away completely, which is more than anyone reading this thread can claim.

Sorry if that sounds a bit bitchy, but I tend to get a bit bitchy when yet another piece of my youth dies...

He will definitely be missed. The world just became a little less funny now that he's gone.

He was the best Dracula ever. And I remember being surprised when I first saw Forbidden Planet that he was in it.
