Twenty five years ago, the fourth reactor of the Chernobyl nuclear plant exploded, sending a plume of radioactive dust into the air. Now, the area around the plant, including the city of Pripyat, is still uninhabited, save by a few elderly residents, and the memory of the disaster lives on.
This is particularly relevent today, what with the Japanese struggling to contain their own nuclear disaster at Fukushima, which has been declared a level seven disaster; the same as Chernobyl.
