  • "Goth" kittens

    A Pennsylvania woman was convicted of animal cruelty for piercing the ears and necks of her kittens, docking their tails, and trying to sell them on eBay as "gothic kittens".

      I've seen animated shows or movies where a cat has an earring, but i'm pretty sure it was like a ring i'd wear on my finger that went around the Cat's whole ear.... however if If i were going to have my cat's ears pierced, so that it could wear jewelry (other than its collar) I'd ask for it to be done by the Vet - and with the safest gauge possible;

      but that's if i really thought it might be a good idea

          They did throw the book at her. The link refers to the fact that her sentence was upheld in court. This is an old case that is back in the news because the defendant lost her appeal.

            Oh good! I guess I didn't realize that it was an old case, thanks for the update!

                It's an odd case. Wasn't she a professional piercer? Yet, it's ok to crop a dog's ears and tail as long as it's professionally done, and get tattoos for identification. Go figure. I wonder if jewelery for animals will ever become an 'in' thing; the neck piercing was too much though.

                    I hope they can prevent her from ever having an animal again. What she did was just plain evil.

                    I want to ask how anyone can be so cruel to an innocent kitten, but sadly, I've seen far too many cases of animal abuse. We humans can be downright despicable to our fellow creatures. We're not the only species on Earth, but we sure do act like it sometimes.

                      poor kitties. the cat in the photo doesn't need doodads on it's ears to be cute - it already has cuteness.
