  • More cello-y rock!

So remember 2cellos, the group that did Smooth Criminal on the cello?

Well they're back with another classic....and this one they pulled off really well.

    Smells Like Teen Spirit

By the way, the cellos that they're using are known as "silent" cellos, meaning that you have to plug them into something to get sound. If you've seen Bond perform live, it's the same thing.

    And another video:

    Enjoy!

I downloaded the album from iTunes after the last thread on these guys

    Love the videos, though.

I really like the facial expressions of the guy on the left (can't remember his name) during Smells Like Teen Spirit. He's really into it and it's quite funny to watch

What's funny is that when you go back and watch Smooth Criminal, they've got these really serious expressions on their faces where it's appearing to be more of a face-off between the two of them. Then you go and watch With or Without You and they're looking so serene. It's amazing to watch

By the way, the guy with the long hair's name is Stjepan Hauser and the short-haired guy's name is Luka Sulic. (there are some accents there, but I can't put them on)

Also, another one for your enjoyment: Pulp Fiction theme

ETA: It's amazing how well they can pull these pieces off. Whenever you do ANY instrument which doesn't act as an accompaniment to voice, you have a second challenge there, which is to get the message across without words. You can do that in so many ways with the instrument, but in some cases, also your body language. For instance, with Smooth Criminal, you can tell by not only their body language, but by their volume and tone that it's meant to be a face off.
