Doctor Whamlet...

Well I should have gotten a library card here earlier... apparently the local library has the David Tennant version of Hamlet.


It's not bad... not as good as Kenneth Branagh's epic version of it but.. not bad.

The only problem is that I keep hearing little nuances that I associate with him as the Doctor. I swear if he says, "Well..." I'm probably going to fall over laughing.

And then he goes and makes this face...



but overall, not bad.

I got that for my birthday and loved it. David does crazy quite well, and he plays the roll pretty much how I've always envisioned it. I also liked Patrick Stewart as Claudius and the fellow who played Horatio.

I haven't even finished it all. i did maybe the first half the night i started the post... i ended it right after hamlet's talk with his mother ("go go you question with a wicked tongue")

i'm hesitant about finishing it though. that night I had some freaky Doctor Ten / Tennant dreams. not bad just... weird.

Personally, I think David Tennant's To Be or Not To Be is the best rendition of that speech yet... it is not very Shakespearian in style, but still amazingly executed... you can actually feel his pain while he is speaking.

Dear gods. Damn, smiley, I don't need another reason to love David. The emotion in that speech. *swoons*
