Even if it isn't Matt Smith, that's a pretty uncanny resemblance.

I like that Moffat himself saw it, thinks it's cool, and wants to do something with it. This could be awesome.

I have no doubt the picture is real. The angle of the supposed "Matt Smith lookalike" makes it far too vague. At that angle, Brad Pitt could pass for him (If he shaved that is).

At best, we'll get something like the start of last series, detailing some of what The Doctor's been up to after saving the whole of reality (again)-- a la appearing beside Laurel & Hardy, getting up to shenanigans in the Great War, and sleeping with French royalty.
