  • Dog/Cat food recall. Yikes!

I didn't see a thread about this yet, so I thought I'd share. As a cat owner, it freaked me out.

Luckily the food we've been feeding out cats is not on that last, and neither is the food my parents feed their cats. What's scary is I have used some of those brands before.

Thanks for the heads-up! I sent the link to everyone that I know who has a cat.

For once, I don't feel bad that I give my cat kibble. (Cat Chow Indoor)

Thankfully none of my animals get the "wet" food. My dog food was on there, but not for dry food

Thanks so much for posting that. My special little guy's food wasn't on the list, thankfully, but I think my sister feeds her dog one of those brands, so I've forwarded the link to her.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

Glad to see my cats Whiskas wet food not on the list.

The list is all wet food.

Makes me extremeley glad that I only feed my babies dry food (Cat Chow Indoor is the bestest, dendawg!!!)

Not really. I fail to see the two brands I feed my cat: Whiskas pouches (don't remember if they were Choice Cuts or Tender Bites, lol) and Purina Friskies.

I should clarify what I meant - I didn't mean that all wet food was being recalled - I was saying that the list of brands that are affected by the recall all seem to be for the wet foods and not the dry foods.

                  Sorry about that!

I'm glad Whiskas isn't on there too. How scary!

Usually my kitty only eats Fancy Feast (She refuses to touch anything else) but I bought a couple of super expensive gourmet cans for a treat.
                        I fed her one can.
2 days later this news comes out.
I had fed her poisoned food. I fed my furry baby poisoned food!!!!!!!!!!
The expensive stuff is on the list.
I do remember though that the can's expiry date was not one of the ones listed, but I've been watching her, her eating habits, her litter box, everything just in case...
I threw out the other can right away.
                        I'm scared now.
I think she'll only be eating her dry Whiskas and human tuna until I stop freaking out

If it was contaminated wheat, they this will get a whole lot bigger. Because if it is the wheat, there is no way the only place it ended up was at Menu foods.
