I'm torn on this. Yes I think the smaller fine is appropriate since they started what could have been a huge problem. But as for the cleanup costs, I say you have an idea of who showed up because of the FB page, charge each person a small fine. Maybe then they will learn collectively to clean up after themselves as well as if they see trash to pick it up so they won't get fined for someone elses wrong doing.

I agree. Their defense seems to be along the lines of "we weren't there!" but the FB records show that they planned the event, setting the date and time, creating a page dedicated to it.

(Unsure if the page is a specific account for the event, or just an event page).


perhaps the taste of responsibility will be enough to teach them to be careful about whom they invite to parties or events.
