I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Ya I bought a new version of it a couple of years ago.

My only disappointment was that they were unable to interview Andre (rest in peace, dear giant). And for whatever reason they didn't have any Wally Shawn interviews either. Inconceivable!

Mandy's interviews were just beautiful though. I'm not sure which one I like better... the one about him getting tears in his eyes watching the finished film, or the ones about working with Andre.

and ooo, there's a game now too? And it looks like they were able to get Mandy, Wally, Robin Wright for it - no one else tho (either too expensive, or too dead).

I liked their FB page last year some time and some of the photos they've been posting leading up to this have been great. One of the first movies I always replace when formats switch.

I wonder why Christopher Guest wasn't there...
One of my all time favorite movies. Did anyone send away for the "missing" chapter from the book?

If not, you can get it here. I requested it and it was emailed to me within minutes. I will not reveal any spoilers I learned upon reading it.

Well that explains why it's been on TV lately...

Yay! Just requested it. I have the book; read it several years ago. I want to read it again one of these days.

Aw, I don't wanna be reminded of how old I am. I remember seeing it in the theater when it first came out. Bought it on VHS a few years later.

                    Still an awesome movie, though.

I was trying to get this concept across to a tweener last week, AD. That when you watched a movie or a show, there was every probability that you would never see it again. Reruns on TV were hit or miss, not every movie made it to tv, etc.

But when VHS came out, ALL new releases were put on video, as well as just about every other movie ever made. Quite a few movies are available on VHS that aren't yet available on DVD.

Other things that astound the younger generation:

                            - 8-track tapes

                            - 'dial' telephones

                            - the concept of only three national television networks

                            - no broadband

                            - no internet AT ALL

                            - the concept that there were no computers, laptops, etc.....

                            - no cell phones

                            - 3-speed column shift manual transmissions

                            - the 'complicated' starting procedure of a car that has neither fuel injection nor automatic choke

Anybody got more? We could probably come up with enough to justify an entire thread.....

Hell they JUST started putting Scarecrow & Mrs. King to DVD in the past 3 years or so - season 4 comes out next year.

In an interview about it, Bruce Boxleitner said the holdup was something about the music rights, which confused him since the music was written for the show specifically.

But yeah, these days you just have to wait maybe 6-10 months after the season ends to see the show. But for SMK we had to wait twenty seven years from the show's original release to the first DVD. (23 years if you count from the end of the last episode).
