No, not me ... that already happened to me, some five years ago.

But Sun Media, which owns (among many others) the newspaper I used to work for, has just laid off 500 more people.

And once again, just in time for Christmas!

Got a great sense of timing, don't they?

I've heard that at least 2 people I know are being let go. One, I think, won't mind much; his health isn't the greatest and he's near or past retirement age. The other is not likely to be too heartbroken, but I think it's going to be a bit of a shock to him. He's pretty much unequalled in what he does and we always thought he'd be the one to turn the lights out when they finally shut the place down for good.
