I doubt he'll be arrested. Fired? Likely, especially when the patient sues the store.

I doubt he'll be arrested, but he damn well deserves jail time.

That's what I'm wondering. I thought police parking enforcement were the only ones who had access to boots.

I hope the store has to pay for the damaged tire, and for the 2nd ambulance run.

Considering it's New Orleans, a small monthly donation to the Huey P. Long "Every Man A King" Memorial Foundation probably covers all permits and "licensing" for revenue collection.

At the least! Can they be charge with anything for that? Is there a law about interfering with emergency services like that? They were responding to a call from their own store...wtf is wrong with the employees?

indeed, if not arrested, then that employee can be fined in my opinion.

many states and countries have laws prohibiting people from obstructing emergency services.

“We actually had to delay that patient's care by calling another ambulance out here to come transport this patient,” Tate said.

To be honest i'm not surprised the company is being silent. Right now they could be at risk for a lawsuit. And if it comes to that I really don't think they'd win.

That poor man! I hope he sues for all it's worth! That store needs to be held accountable for such idiocracy. Hopefully that would teach them! Hope the patient is okay though...

So if your vehicle is booted by this particular convenience store, how do you get it taken off? Do you pay the store something? The police?

And how does a private business get the power to place a boot on somebody's vehicle?

Something stinks here and it isn't the coffee fart I just ripped.

tho it may also depend on how badly the delay complicated the patient's progress.

although i agree, from a quick google search it's apparently based on city laws. although i think towing is a better option personally... cos a booted car still takes up parking lot space while a tow job clears the car off.

although even with boot laws of course... it's still interfering with emergency vehicles.
