Anti-diabetic medication comes with warnings not to drink for a reason. What was wrong with him, taking that kind of risk?

A diabetic that drank basicly moonshine goes suddenly blind and decides to "sleep it off"?! WTF! And he was at a party - why is it that no one in his life a) kicked his ass and b) sped him to the ER? He is monumentally lucky he survived the night - if I was his wife I would have b***h slapped him the second I knew he was going to be ok.

Kudos to the hospital for improvising. Sounds like he was handicapping his own treatment though, when they asked if he had been drinking and he told them 'no.' Half of me can picture him suing the medication maker for 'not detailing the risks' or something.
