A sad day in history - Daniel K. Inouye has passed away

Medal of Honor recipient Daniel K. Inouye passed away today due to respiratory complications.

No matter how many times I read his MOH citation I still . He pretty much had his right arm blown to bits ("shattered" by a grenade) and "despite the intense pain" he , "continued to direct his platoon until enemy resistance was broken and his men were again deployed in defensive position".


I hope Heaven realizes just what calibre of man is walking through the pearly gates today.

I remember hearing of him when I was a little girl. He served in the Senate for decades and was highly regarded and respected.

Another one gone from a dying breed of person.
