Dunno how much the Americans know about this, but it's big news over here... as well as spawning several jokes.

There was an old woman who swallowed a horse... she'd been to Tesco, of course.

Also; guess we now have solved the mystery of what happened to Shergar... O_o

No wonder people are complaining - they're getting porterhorse steak at filly mignon prices.

                And they're off!

Honestly I fail to see the humour here (and the bad jokes are not helping any). This is a SEVERE quality control issue. What if it had been a case of Botulism instead of horse meat? At least in this case it's still edible.

Sorry, but my region just finished up dealing with a major tainted meat issue itself so this doesn't exactly spark jokes to me. Before anyone asks, no I wasn't affected by it as my family and I have been using cuts from an old (now deceased) butcher friend of the family at the time.

There's not any cases of diseased meat; just horsemeat and pork too, I think. Besides, it's the British way to tell jokes about stuff; much more healthy than calling in lawyers and therapists.

There's a woman who was rushed to hospital after eating a Tesco burger... she's said to be stable.

Considering the subject of this thread is "meat from wrong species being sold", I did a double-take when I saw that. Anthrophagia, anyone?

So, if anyone offers me a Tesco burger, I'm supposed to say "Neigh"?

Horse meat found in Tesco burgers. Camel toe found in Primark leggings.
