Researcher claims to have proof that Gustav Whitehead flew over CT over 2 years before the infamous Wright Brothers' flight.
Although to be honest, this isn't the first time I've seen claims made. IIRC the Curtiss company still claims to have been first since their flight was the first "officially witnessed flight in North America." (wiki)
But if this researcher is correct then both the WBs & Curtiss would both be wrong.
There's still disagreement on the research however.
