Section 3 (Background and Out of Character)

5 hours in ER? What happened?

My son decided to whack his sister in the face with a plastic toy bin. He knocked one of her two front teeth back.
I had to wait for hubby to drive home from work and then take her to the clinic, who gave me a referall to the pediactric ER which is waaaay on the other side of town.

So I had the pleasure of hanging out with a screaming, flailing, nonverbal child for 5 hours while we has exams and consults and finally had to have the tooth pulled. Then I was so exhausted that I could hardly carry her back out to the car, and she was upset about not getting to keep one of the ER toys, so she screamed and flailed all the way out to the car, and screamed all the way home.
I feel like such a bad mom because all those people saw me struggling with her.

Aww... I've been to the ER with my kids plenty of times for lots of things (none of which, thankfully, were ever serious). And don't feel like a bad mom. Anyone with children will understand. Any of them without kids, well, they'll get their chance eventually. It happens to all of us parents at one time or another.

I just always feel like a bad mom since that's what my family says because she isn't perfectly behaved 100% of the time. They don't seem to understand that she's only 4 years old, and she's autistic and mostly nonverbal.

People love to judge, but just remember they don't know until they have walked a mile in your shoes.

Daughter is doing better today. She's happy as a clam since she's on a soft foods diet and it includes many of her favorite foods. Jello for breakfast made her day. The anti-pain meds they gave her in the ER also have an amnesia effect, so she doesn't remember anything about the visit at all. My arms are still sore from wrangling her, but I should be back at 100% tomorrow.

Once we hear from everyone about waiting, I was wondering if I could write a post about what happened overnight?

However, it is my boyfriend. I need to steal it back from him. :\ I am at the library. WOO. Also, yay a/c. Yet another reason why I am at the library. My a/c is still busted.

EDIT: O_o Kanalah... why do I get the feeling that if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck? No. Wait. KidletGirl doesn't remember. That's good luck. Blessing. I second what's been said about criticizing parents. You try, you try hard. That's what counts. Nobody's perfect. And, if you were, then you'd still screw your kids up because "OMG Mom was perfect why am I not I am a complete failure raghlblarglghar." >_>

Hehe, I don't mind about a new character, but I warn you I am not so good with coming up for things for the bad guys to do.

He's not saying bad guy; he wants to do a guy who's on the good side but...entirely selfish.

Basically yeah. He'd be an illusionist with a long career as a thief and con artist. I think it would be the first character who's government connection would be prison. And he'd be here because they got tired of how hard it was to keep him in and decided it was easier to make him Section 3's problem. He's more a thrill-seeker than greedy, and so long as he has an interesting way to use his powers he'll mostly behave. He'll just usually be putting himself before others.
