  • Why Sentence Structure Is So Important

A boss knew the budget required him to lay off somebody, and he narrowed it down to one of two people, Debra or Jack.

It was an impossible decision because they were both super workers.

Rather than flip a coin, he decided he would fire the first one who used the water cooler the next morning.

Debra came in the next morning and before going to her desk, stopped to get a drink at the cooler.

The boss approached her and said, 'Debra, I'm sorry I did not discuss this with you before, but I have to lay you or Jack off.'

'Would you mind doing the latter?' she asked. 'I have made it a point never to have affairs with my boss.'

The title makes it even funnier.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com
