This is an oldie (and a bit punny
There was once this hit man named Artie who was desperate for business. So much so, in fact, that he agreed to do a hit on a guy's wife for a dollar.
He followed the guy's wife while she was doing her grocery shopping. Finally seeing her on a deserted grocery aisle, he decided to strike. So, he slipped up behind her with a rope and strangled her.
When he was done, he discovered to his horror that he had two witnesses who had seen the deed. Not wanting to get caught, he also eliminated the two as well.
The next day, the headline in the local paper read:
Artie Chokes Three for a Dollar at the A&P
