I actually liked some of the changes in season 2; I thought the scenes between Tywin and Arya were good. Tywin is more human in the show than the books. I will almost feel bad when...you know.

Sigh. I guess I should have watched it first, then read the books, huh?
Mmm....I was one of those who watched True Blood first, then read the books and I'm like "omg, I remember seeing this, this, this and this" in there. Repeatedly.

That said, with the transition from book-> show, True Blood seems to have gone completely off-base come Season Six. They're apparently going to go back to their roots come Season 7 (hence the killing off of like 20,000 characters this season).

Ok, I started reading GOT, and I'm working on A Feast for Crows. So I decided to start watching it just to see how good it was, how they did stuff, etc.

I'm in the middle of Season 2, and it's like they just threw the book out the window. The same basic plot points are there, but they come at them completely differently and it's driving me nuts. When did anyone ever steal the dragons in Qarth? When did Osha offer herself to Theon? Tywin Lannister didn't arrive at Harrenhal until later on. Arya was cupbearer for Roose Bolton!!

Sigh. I guess I should have watched it first, then read the books, huh?

One can only knock boots so many times, I prefer good conversation and one quality leg over in a day.

[I have dated my share of 'faces' and I prefer someone who is less pretty and better at conversation.]
In real life, yeah. Although my hubby's got brains and beauty as far as I'm concerned (he's a big ol' teddy bear).

Part of what I like about the Viking vampire is his snarkiness.

Read to like, book six, and then stop. It goes WAY downhill from there, and don't get me started on how she ended the series. Idiotic as get out, it was a huge disappointment, and no wonder it's one of the lowest rated books on Amazon now.
    I actually don't mind up to around Book 10. 11 and 12 were a bit O.o

    I haven't read 13 yet. I might.

I for one, simply cannot wait for what comes next. I have been gleefully awaiting it for some time, having read the books you see. Curious? Then I shall tell you, but only if you highlight what is below. SPOILER:

The wolves have scattered and fallen, and soon so shall the lions.

But True Blood *does* have Eric Northman.

    :swoons:

I love both shows, for different reasons.

I've read the ASOIAF books, but not the Sookie Stackhouse ones.

My boyfriend was surprisingly one of the folks who DIDN'T throw a screaming ragefit.

I haven't read the books, I have watched bits and pieces of the TV series (not enough to follow an actual story!)

In a somewhat ironic twist for me, I actually stopped watching it for one reason: too much sex. Why it's ironic? I have no problem watching True Blood which has plenty of sex!
Yes, but True Blood doesn't have Tyrion Lannister.

    No contest.

I am laughing so hard at all my friends screaming and raging about tonight's episode. I knew it was coming, I've been doing a little dance practically, trying to contain spoilers.

    Sweet, sweet payoff.

Also, they're going to thrown even MORE of a fit next season.

What happened last night? Was it the, uh, nuptial scene?

Picture me some years back, getting off work at 11:30 pm and sitting in the big recliner to read. My husband was out with friends and I was going to stay up and wait for him. At 2 a.m. he comes in to find me...

    POSSIBLE SPOILER

    ...bawling my eyes out.

I just started the first book and am inclined to watch the show once I've finished said first book. Maybe after the second book I'll start watching.
If you've read the first book, you're good for the first season (Book 1 is first season, 2 is 2nd, 3 is where it starts splitting off and including things from later books). They change things (naturally), but a lot of it is for expediency's sake, and the rest is probably because there are too many damn characters, and they don't think people will remember them all.
