The basic premise is that homer destroyed Springfield with a nuclear blast and he and Lisa were originally the only ones alive. Gradually you're meant to rebuild the entire town by saving up money to buy certain buildings. You can also use "donuts" as premium (real world payment required) currency to unlock more buildings and characters, usually ones that involve one-off characters.
Yep, I'm a Tapped Out addict. Although I'll go through phases of playing it like mad during 'events' (ie Halloween and Christmas) but then I'll just set it to do 24 hour tasks when I'm not playing it.
Those @#$%ing notifications. I wish to hell I could find some way to set the notifications to just use my standard notification sound.
Instead, every few hours, I'll suddenly hear "Better them than me!" or Homer singing the "Tallyho" tune or whatever the hell it is.
It's gotten to the point where I will mute the phone if I'm going to be around other people when the notifications are likely to come up, and I don't want to mute my phone. And I don't want to just shut off the Tapped Out notifications.

I was on an internal call to someone else in the company and during a conversation I heard Homer's 'Better them than me' at the other end of the phone. I jokingly said he might want to turn your phone on silent. He was surprised it carried down the phone line.
Not as bad as when it goes off in the middle of the night though. That one frightened the crap out of me...

Yeah, I usually have mine timed to "use up" by the time I get off work or before I go into work. That said, I'm a deep enough sleeper that Homer's little exclamations don't wake me up in the middle of the night.

Lol. One of the residents was in paying rent last week and her "Better them than me" notification went off. I automatically went for my phone even though I knew I'd put it to silent.
