Y'all should've seen the local post office personnel when I brought in a couple of these to have shipping costs estimated. Was HILAAAAARIOUS.

Still super cool! What's next? Something so big you can't ship it in one piece?

      ....yes....actually.....

Saving up to get the materials to make it, but yes. I have a project idea that is most likely unshippable. <.<

More like a four foot tall sprite. It'll be a heckuva project, so its on the list after I finish my Everquest logo first.

Any chance you'd drag my attention to the pics when you get this one made? Played EQ for 10 years, quit for a bit, playing again...I gotta see this!

Ooo. Yeah, one that big should either burn you out, ending the addiction; or it'll solidify it to the point where you give up your website building work and start on this full-time.

What are those made of? They are really cool.

I had to show my son the Metroid one, because he is totally into that game. In fact he made little squeaky noises for a minute before he was able to say "that is AWESOME".

The sprite's made out of Perler beads...aka "melty beads". Outside of the US, they're usually Hama beads, or PhotoPearl, or Nabbi. You just basically have to assemble them onto pegboards, and then iron them carefully. Like, super careful. <.<

I was actually wondering if using an oven (carefully) might be easier. Then I remember you and the toaster....

I should add that you can get a pegboard that you can clip together to make a larger square pegboard.

If you want something to practice with, IKEA do a bead and pegboard kit for about $10 AUD (not sure what the price is overseas) which has a TON of beads plus about 4 small pegboards (circle, square, heart and something else )

Down here they're Hama beads. I still have 2 stars that I made from Hama beads floating around somewhere.
