  • Worst Apps Ever!

iOS droid or other. They crash. Freeze. Glitch. They barely do as advertised or they work for weeks then when you finally need them they won't work for shit!

I'll start the list with my current 2.

    1) Forum Runner- I'm lucky it didn't crash just from posting this.

    2) Sirius XM. Lags. Is slow. Ears data like potato chips and once a week gives me login issues (only when there's a stern show I really wanna hear!) oh and the new navigation/playback and pause system rules. But it's too sensitive and only has skip. Not fast forward/rewind. Lame when trying to pick that sweet spot.

I may be the lamest smart phone owner ever. I have maybe, MAYBE, a couple dozen apps on my phone. One silly beer one, Facebook, World of Beer, Untappd, a virtual checkbook, a notepad, a flashlight (which is awesome and very, very bright), ESPN, CNN, a few games (mostly Angry Bird variations), and a couple others I downloaded but haven't actually used yet. And....that's it.

So luckily, none of them have sucked.

    Yet.

Accuweather for Android is great when it works, but every so often (may be the app, may just be my ancient original Galaxy S phone) it will crash and/or lock up the phone.

One of my forums has an app for Android; I've never gotten it (or Forum Runner, for that matter) to work properly on either my phone or tablet.

I've heard the Forum Runner is a POS - yet I use it a lot and I don't think I've encountered any real problem with it yet. (Just watch, now I will >.<) I think I've just been lucky... *taps self on head*

One app I really, really detest is Google Play Music. I don't use my phone to play music; I have an iPod for that task! So with only about three music tracks in the phone's memory, I take umbrage with this uppity shit piece of software that I can't get rid of without drastic measures thinking it can turn itself on at will and guzzle my battery power for no fucking reason whatsoever!

          1) My Little Pony - its great, its had Derpy, but the social aspect is broken, and it just about twists your arms into paying for it. Worst app ever, and yet I still go look for Derpy at least once a day. -.-

The aim is to throw your phone as high as you can to get a high score

Looks very detrimental to a phones health!

Also, any built in app that ships with the OS that you don't use but can't get rid of. I'm looking at you Facebook & SoundHound.
            Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Me, too. That, and Scootaloo flying. That's the only reason I still play it.

As for S.M.T.H., I love it! If you're stupid enough to download and try to play that game, you deserve whatever happens to your phone.

All of those "FREE MMO!" games that are time gated with "convenient" pay-to-play *features*. They clog up the top games lists, and quickly devolve into doing the same things over and over (which pretty much defines MMO's, granted, but at least those change things up by giving you something new every level or so). Wish Google would shunt them off into their own category so more games could get their 15 minutes of fame.

This sounds a lot like "Hang Time", an app that came out when the iPhone was first introduced. I heard that the app publisher was looking for venture capital, and one of the VCs tried the app - wound up "roofing" his phone.

Kindle. I have an HTC Desire, which do not have a whole lot of storage memory. The Kindle app sucks up 24MB of storage, out the total of 154 available. That's on top of the 6MB or so for the app itself, which I moved to the SD card.

Far as few apps go, I got you beat. I have 3 apps on my phone, all games. They do all work properly, aside from Words with Friends being sometimes really slow to update when someone has played. PM me with your user name if you wanna play a game.

There was one app I had that I've forgotten what it's called. It was supposedly one that would transfer all of an iPhone's ringtones and alarms to an Android. First off, damn thing didn't work. Second, within seconds of installation, it began downloading a bunch of random apps and crap to my phone. Needless to say, I didn't keep it very long.

And/or carrier crap. My phone has a bunch of AT&T bloatware I'd love to get rid of (mobile banking, FamilyMap and other crap, including as I found out CarrierIQ). Only way to do so is by rooting, which I can't do if I want the warranty.

Hell to the fucking yeah! Drives me nuts! I eventually use my phone for music (or more likely, sports talk radio), but as of yet, have not. Yet this pile of rubbish continuously turns itself on. What the fuck, man?

Amusingly, while Words with Friends is one of the few games I have on my phone, I have yet to actually start playing it. I'm sure I will soon enough, though...I'm a sucker for Scrabble and word games in general.

                              Blackberry's facebook app... completely annoying!
I am so SO glad I was not present for this. There would have been an unpleasant duct tape incident. - Joi
