  • Wolverine movie

    Trying to avoid spoilers here.

Just got back from seeing it. Mediocre.

You have to be pretty familiar with the X-Men movies other than this one. It cannot stand alone because of this. I'm not certain this is a good or bad thing, but it does tend to limit its appeal to the main cinema-going audience.

There were a few plot elements that were pretty obvious ahead of time, and one or two bits that really didn't work for me. I got the feeling it was more intended to tie into the next movie (advertised in the credits - decent scene).

Oh yes, it's rated 12A over here, which means that if the parents think their child is up for it, they can watch at the age of 8, or 12 without a parent there.

A guy next to me won the parent of the moment award by removing his youngsters within three minutes of the actual film starting. I have to agree - not suitable for audiences that young.

I agree, The Wolverine was pretty mediocre, and it doesn't stand alone in that it pretty clearly is set some time after X-Men 3.

I was almost certain that they'd set up Yukio to be the romantic interest, so it was a somewhat pleasant surprise that they went in a different direction.

I think they made a bold decision in showing a new weakness to Wolverine in this movie (especially by the end), especially given they're continuing the franchise with Days of Future Past (see the stinger part-way through the credits!).

But yeah, the movie was pretty 'meh.'

It was still better than the other wolverine movie. Plot was meh, but Jackman keeps it still good.

It was good fun - but the bit that really made me squee like a crazy fangirl was the mid-credits sequence. Am pretty hyped for Days of Future Past now.

I thought it was entertaining but the story did leave something to be desired.

            Plus...Hugh Jackman....*drool* teehee

Love the first two X-Men and love Hugh Jackman, but I didn't get my butt to see this one. I guess I'm kind of tired of so many of the movies focusing on Wolverine. The trilogy did, in most aspects, then his origin movie, now this. I think the other characters need exploring, is all.
