  • Costume makers, I know you are on this board.

I know a few costume makers post on this board. Thought I'd offer this here first, so you could have a decent customer for a change.

I'm looking for someone who can make a Shezow costume for my lanky 6'3" frame. Budget is upper three figures.

    Thanks,

I have retired from costuming [plus we are working on hall costumes for WorldCon London next summer] but good luck.

I will point out that the boots are going to end up being one of 2 things - either very expensive customs, or something already online that fits you and can be bashed into looking more or less correct.

Hm, these have a nice cartoony-funky look to them, and probably would be fairly OK to add a topper of patent leather to. They are not overly expensive, but I am not sure if they are in your size range however. Same site has 'candy 3000' which is a thigh high but it is fairly tight at the top, and again, size matters [giggle] so it might be better to go for the shorter ones and add a topper to them.

I agree. I'm not a costumer, but I have made clothing before. The boots are going to be your sticking point; but AD has given you excellent advice there.

Gloves are a picky thing to sew, so you may prefer to try to find well-fitting pink elbow length gloves and colour-match everything else to them.

If I were making it, I'd go for a top and pants in pink leopard print stretch knit; rather than a bodysuit. Much easier when you need to find a bathroom! And the separate parts will be readily concealed by the overclothes.

The top, skirt, belt and cape I'll leave for whoever takes up the offer.

I recommend Manic Panic temporary hair dye for the purple fringe lock. You may need to bleach the hair you're planning to dye, if your hair is naturally dark.
If you'd prefer a REALLY temporary fringe lock (rather than a semi-permanent dye), you can buy clip-in synthetic hair in the correct colour, and cut it to length.

      2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
      3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
      4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.
