My new knife!

Last year, I asked for some advice about knives.

At the time, I went with a decent little folding lock blade that I picked up at Advanced Auto. It was decent, if fragile. (I replaced it when it broke, after not that long.)

Well, this last March, I kinda lost the knife. I had to check it when I entered a local gentleman's club, and spaced retrieving it when I left. A few weeks later when I did go to retrieve it, security had a box of unclaimed knives, but none were mine. They were nice enough, however, to allow me to choose one to take, since all had been there over a month. Decent knife, but again, nothing special.

Well, this weekend was Bike Week in Key West, and as I was wandering around checking out some of the awesome machines on Duval Street, I happened upon a knife vendor. And though it cost me more than what I now see it being advertised online, I still think I got a pretty good deal on a pretty nifty knife, which has "assisted opening," which some of you mentioned to me at the time.

Anyway, this is my new Wartech knife. I welcome feedback on it, good or bad, and thank you for your advice last year.

That looks pretty sweet. I don't know knives, but I do know that the assisted open is a really nice feature - I had about a $50 knife with it that was unfortunately lost in a catastrophic move (I was homeless for a few months in between housing).

Speaking of Knives, a guy I know makes them for fun/hobby. Hell a while back he met his biological family on his fathers side for the first time and made for them all

A Kuhkri
A buffalo Knife
A double sided knife kinda like a Katar
A Seax (ancient german dagger)
and a knife similar to a bowie knife with his own touches

and right now he's making a katana from 5160 steel, which was originally part of an industrial sized coil spring.

Check out the link...very cheap to get that and other knives on it. Even cheaper than what I paid, though of course I didn't have to pay any shipping or such.

As for hurting myself, I am far more a danger to myself with kitchen knives than I am with a pocketknife.

It is for the purposes I need it for at work and such, which is mostly opening boxes and things of that ilk.

True, but not only would that be a bit overkill at work, it wouldn't really serve my other purposes, either. Like, say, carrying it without attracting any undue attention to myself.

Looks to be a fairly good knife.
Myself I prefer Kershaw especially the Ken Onion designed knives but to each their own. My knives also have open assist. The smaller knives also have a safety to keep the blade locked into the handles. I'm very much in favor of the safety as is will go a long ways from keeping you from sinking about 1.5 inches of Kershaw Chive blade into your thigh when you're getting into your car.
