Seafood IS meat.Quoth Jester View Postas the only meatless chilis I've ever made were a black bean chili and a seafood and white bean chili.Seshat's self-help guide:
1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Quoth Dreamstalker View Postanyone have any good bean-substitution ideas for chili?Seconded. In fact, there are regions in the United States where they laugh at you if you put beans in your chili.Quoth Jester View PostI do. Don't use beans!
You should be able to find recipes for all-meat chili on the net. Here's a place to start: http://allrecipes.com/recipes/soups-...without-beans/

While I often say that myself, you know damn well what I meant. Chili without RED meat, or land-based meat if you prefer.Quoth Seshat View PostSeafood IS meat.

He's hyperthyroid, and kitties with the condition aren't supposed to get iodine (found in most fish). The vet says he can't have anything at all besides the special food (not even catnip...) at least until we determine whether it's working. I did find a chart with the iodine levels of various meats; we're actually considering a raw diet for him once the thyroid comes under control and we can consult with the vet on what exactly he can and can't have. He loves chicken.Quoth Tama View PostYou could always get a few cans of tuna to supplement the cat's diet a few days a month, half a can a day or so. I think you're supposed to get it in water because the oil makes them sick."I am quite confident that I do exist."
