    Yes, I'd say you've been adopted (euphemism for 'taken into unceasing bondage')

    My last kitty was a stray. Repaid my taking her in with constant love and devotion. One of the best things I've ever done.
    Engaged to the sweet Mytical He is my Black Dragon (and yes, a good one) strong, protective, the guardian. I am his Silver Dragon, always by his side, shining for him, cherishing him.

                  She probably was waiting for you to come out so she could grab onto you and not let go. I know mine did, scardy cat as he is.
