  • I Cannot Recommend The Stanley Parable Enough

I played the original mod, and I wanted to show it in English class (when I teach) and have like, two students play it, then have a discussion about the narrative and literary aspects of it.

    Now it's a full game.

    And it's even better.

    The idea behind the game?

The narrator wants to tell a little (ironic) story about freedom, with some marxist overtones.

You don't have to join him.

    This might upset him.

The demo is its own game. The trailer is a fake Lets Play with a guy who doesn't hear the narrator, and goes kinda nuts.

I'm having so much fun with it, and I still want to show it in English class, but I'm definitely planning on showing the new one.

I love this game so much!! The first time I played through I did the opposite of what the narrator told me to do every time lol.

TTO got it for me this weekend. I am LOVING it. First game ever that I have literally burst out laughing while playing. Brilliant. The sarcasm of the narrator is amazing

I enjoy staying in rooms and watching him get mad at me. The broom closet is the best.

I was laughing so hard at the broom closet I had tears running down my cheeks.

Did you try to get the achievement for room 430? It's pretty funny too.

Crawl out the window (it's one of the desks by the window where the chair is a bit out, same room as 430 I think). It takes a bit of effort (run up to the chair a few times, keep holding the forward button, then crawl over the desk divider and through the window.) When he asks you a question, say yes.

              He'll start singing.

                  Two more fun ones:

Jump off the platform you're lead onto if you ignore him. Both onto the ground and onto the hallway below.

                  Unplug the phone.

                    Yay! I broke the game!

Felt a little bad for the narrator though after I did. He sounded so pleading at the end when the credits rolled.

Of course, that's not gonna stop me from screwing around some more.

I would get it, but lately I've gone entirely overboard on Steam purchases.

Aaand next month the X-com expansion is out. Yeah might be a while before I get to Stanley's Parable.
