I don't often ask for things like this, but keep me and hubs in your thoughts. We found out a couple of days ago that his father was in home hospice care. We thought we had enough time to make a trip down south Friday to see him, but we were too late. We are now heading south TODAY to make funeral arrangements.

That's kinda the thing, we got word that it was too late already, meaning he was already gone. Gonna be stuck in a hotel for three nights now getting financial stuff together and mementos from the house, and then a viewing Friday night and a graveside service at his family's cemetery Saturday afternoon.
I'm so exhausted and drained from dealing with all this already, but I'm here to help the hubs through it all.

We just got back home a few hours ago. We had a viewing at the closest funeral home to where he lived, and then had the burial several hours away today and then drove home. To think of it visually: imagine we live at the top left corner of a capital D. We drove all the way to the south of the state four days ago to begin arrangements/go through his paperwork for financial information. Today we drove essentially around the state for the burial and then to come back home, about 8 hours of driving total. I am so tired and just woke up from what was supposed to be a nap to get my sleep schedule back on track for work tomorrow night, but I think I'm just about to attempt to sleep it off until noon or later if I can. Hubs is having his moments from time to time, but for the most part is handling it all well.
