I got a message from his mother asking for me to call him, she said they had to band 5 varices this time... So I got to speak to him last night - not for long, because he sounded very tired and 'woozy' (only to be expected really) but long enough to tell him the important things.
Yes it is his birthday today - not how I wanted us to be spending it though

Thank you everybody for your well wishes. I really do need a new body. Varices, Ulcer, and dehydration all hit at once.
