If you need somebody with a light southern draw (as in American, from the southern states) I would volunteer (yes that is volunteer, as in not costing you a dime)
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

If you have a stat database, make it available at the times players need it most - especially when setting up for a fight. It's okay for entries to be missing from it if the characters haven't encountered an enemy or a weapon before, but if they know the name of it, they should also know something about it.

Don't make any promises that you might not be able to keep.

Also, if you make it a freemium game, make all essential items free (i.e. no real money needed to buy it) and give players an option to earn free "currency" to buy the luxury stuff. No one should have to spend $200+ on things that they need to advance or level up!

I think things like character customization (looks), novelty pets, making pets look different .. and other cosmetic things would cost real $, while other neccessary things would be free. But that is just me.

              I wasn't making a freemium game.

I want people to feel a sense of achievement when they beat the big-Cthulhu creature in that one dungeon..or when they reach a high level..or get the super special whatever-it-is.

If I do any microtransactions, it'll be packs of healing potions or some other similar consumable item that doesn't really give you a huge advantage over anyone. Undercutting the sense of achievement really infuriates me.

If you need someone who curses a lot, I'm your man!

Lack of story kills me. That and any game that involves HAVING to spend money or have friends help.

For microtransactions: appearance customisation is always a good option. Have a reasonable amount of free customisation; but people LOVE having the ability to buy Fancy Outfit #372. Especially if it's limited-edition.

It doesn't affect gameplay. It doesn't make it pay-to-win in any way at all. And it brings in a steady trickle-income for things the players choose to value.

                    Wins all around, IMO.

                    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
                    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
                    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

                      Thank you.
                      You must play GW2 ...

I absolutely detest jumping puzzles. Probably because I am playing on a German server, I can't jump accurately for shit. I think the rocks in the cave in Lions End is the only JP I can do with any dependability, and that pointy rock in the middle of the cave near the beginning is troublesome. That microlag I get is killer.

Let me add twisty - there are some pathings up towers and stairwells that are a bitch, I end up creeping frequently because this whole 3 steps turn 90 degrees, 3 steps, 90 degrees on effectively a 1 foot wide plank sucks ass. If I run. I fall, so I creep. I have to make sure everything is dead so I don't get sniped while I creep.

Hm, in the same vein - there is a slightly known issue with completion in Shiverpeak - I am missing one single point. I have done the checklist, running physically to each and every point to reconfirm I have done it on my main just in case I did it on an alt and brainfarted into thinking I had already done it on my main. I even did both dungeons in both story and exploration mode. Please add a mode where you can get a listing of both quests already finished and map locations already explored - not being able to remember or confirm that you have actually done every single quest in the zone sucks - I have been known to print out a quest list and manually check stuff off as I finish them, and printing out the list of zone points as well.

UI tweaking - many people love making and using custom UIs - I had some killer good UIs in WoW, LOTRO and EQ1, GW1 has effectively no real mods you can do. I like to rearrange my spells so all I need to do is run the numbers along the top of the keyboard in the order I prefer to cast, and previously 8 has traditionally been my go to healing spell, and 0 teleport to home or a specific point - makes gameplay nice because I don't have to spend time rummaging for the spell I want when I change character classes. Being able to arrange the components in the UI is also nice.

Cosmetics - when you dye an armor piece, it would be great if the color was always the same across the different types of armor - I have seen it where the color royal blue went from a sort of turquoise to midnight, or yellow from chrome yellow to mustard so trying to get a unified look sucks when you have to change out a piece and try to dye it to match. If you bleach you need to make the armor go white, not whatever color it started out as. [GW2 has a huge number of dyes you can use, but the armor piece you dye effects what you try to dye.]
EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

What sort of puzzles are good? I wanted to have some, but not if they're all infuriating.

Also..Thank you, you awesome folks for volunteering. *hug!* I feel loved/cared about. Yay!

And thank you also, for all you guys who have posted about stuff. *hug!*

If you want female voices with Australian accents, Bast has a good sound recording setup. Neither of us is any good at faking accents, so you're going to get 'educated Australian' if you use us. She's soprano, I'm alto (as in, she has a higher speaking voice than I do.)

Puzzles that are good... logic puzzles. I quite enjoy those. I also love exploring. And yes, I'm a completionist: if you tell me I can find twenty different Xs in a given map, I'll look for all twenty. (But yes, please let me know which ones I've found on this character.)

Puzzles that drive distant players crazy: anything where latency makes a difference. I'm on the far side of the Pacific: light inherently takes a certain number of milliseconds just to get here. Plus I'm that extra however-many jumps from the server than someone closer to the server is. I have latency they don't have. Doesn't matter whether it's a good or bad lag day, I'm X milliseconds slower than they are. Allow for it.
