  • Once Upon a Time finale?

So we are going to a new land.

    Which land do you think?

My money says India and the Jungle Book with Molgwi.

We will have to wait until Sunday to find out...
Lister: This is Crazy. Why are we talking about going to bed with Wilma Flintstone?
Cat: You're right. We're Nuts! This is an insane conversation....
Lister: She'll never leave Fred and we know it.

Now that I'm thinking on it I, too, wonder which place hasn't been gone to/touched on for more then a couple of episodes. Maybe the Cinderella fable will be the next place to go, I don't think that's been touched on yet.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

They met Cinderella in season 1

My other thought was Narnia, but I don't really see them doing that

Oh yea, I remember now. I feel stupid now that I think back on it. Wasn't she with Sleeping Beauty and Mulan?

I don't think the Hunchback of Notre Dame was introduced yet, that's another possibility. I do like the Jungle Book aspect, or even Captain Nemo.

I keep thinking it has to be a property Disney has used before to one degree or another. Seeing as they own ABC

UNLESS they wanted to go really crazy and do something completely new, like say the African tribal tales like Anasti the spider

If the town ends up back in the Enchanted Forest only to end up back in Storybrook again; the residents better start asking for frequent universe miles.

Jungle Book, mixed in with African lore might work.

I'd think Hercules maybe, but that brings in Gods and that might not be where they want to go. Then again for the power creep that might be needed.

Hunchback could work. Or maybe they'll go back to Wonderland.

We've already had Frankenstein, maybe Dracula? But that would be too limited a setting.

I could see Holmes maybe showing up. Moriarty vs the Wickedly Evil Family. (I'm sure Watson will turn out to be an Uncle)

Anastasia perhaps? Or some North American lore, like Paul Bunyon and Johnny Appleseed and such.

OK Just saw the episode, and given what Disney's been doing, where they go next is a bit obvious. Though the other wrinkle was almost as good.

I half expected, with the movie coming this summer, they would bring Maleficent back but that's the one we didn't get.

Emma killed her in the first season. Defining heroic quest, and all that.

I'm actually really intrigued by the Regina storyline. Parallels and all that- a chance to handle a nealy-identical situation in a totally different way.

I felt bad for Regina, once again she got screwed out of love. I know Emma meant no harm but Hook was right she was supposed to die, as for the ending I never saw it coming. It just came out of nowhere, but I'm excited and I can't wait for season 4.

                      *Spoiler warning*

Yeah, I don't fault Regina's reaction to what Emma did. I'd be hard pressed to think of anyone who would be able to handle that sort of situation.

I just hope they don't let her slide back into Evilness because of it. Yes black magic is her bailiwick, but she's shown she can control it (and white magic) while not being Evil. How she recovers from this blow will be really telling, and I suspect she'll lean heavily on Henry to recover. Not to mention Robin's going to have a lot of explaining to do too now. While Marian just left him in her eyes, in his (and their son's world) they've had years to get over her loss and move on.

As for the teaser; it'll be interesting to see how they treat Elsa. Sure appearance wise the teaser is a blatant #Frozen grab. But considering what they've done with the other fairy tales, I suspect they'll go to the original Winter Queen story for inspiration, and do their own twists on it. Hopefully leaving the family tree twist out for a change. (Though on another board someone suggested she might be Hook's mother, which would be an intriguing idea)

Finally got around to watching the finale today. For the most part, I loved it. Belle and Rumple's wedding was beautiful (as was Belle's outfit for that scene, omg), the baby's naming ceremony was very sweet, and Hook more-or-less punching his own lights out was hilarious.

The whole thing with Regina at the end, though, made me want to bash my head against the wall a few times for two reasons that relate to each other. First, of everyone that the strange woman could have been, of all the billions of story and fairytale characters that could've been picked from, did it *have* to be Marian? Second, The back and forth of "Regina's evil. Nope! She's good. Oh wait. No. Still evil" is starting to feel like Overused Fart/Sex/Whatever Joke Syndrome. Like Jetfire said, I really hope that this doesn't cause her to go back into full-blown Evil Queen mode. It would completely undo every bit of character development that she's gone through this season.

As far as Elsa, I haven't seen Frozen yet but I've seen enough pictures and GIFs to know the shameless product placement/ratings grab when I see it. Was it kinda cheesy? Yes, it really was. That said, it does have some underlying potential. What I know of the original tale of the Snow Queen, she was the villain of that story instead of a tragic anti-hero (and was going to be in the movie as well until they changed it). If they go that route, especially if they also work in the Troll (again, a bad guy in the original story) and the mirror, this could be extremely fun.

I just wish the producers would validate which fairy tale character Emma is.

(I know which, I just want validation)

Can you elaborate? I thought she and Henry were the only two not inspired by Disney films.
