I haven't been on here posting all that much anymore, for a few reasons. Namely, I quit my job at Pit of Despair Manufacturing, Inc. (A wholly-owned subsidiary of Soul Corroding Pit of Hell, Inc.) in order to go back to school. I got a job working with mentally disabled kids. I saw a few things out and about that would make good Sightings, but other than that... not much. Life went on.
Here's what's been going on all that time.
1.) I earned an associate's degree and started in on the bachelors of social work degree. So far so good, although they require me to shadow a social worker for ten hours before the end of next month, and I don't wanna. Know I need to, but don't wanna, all the same.
2.) I'm looking for other work. There's some family turmoil with the kid I work with that may result in him needing another arrangement. It might be months, or it might be years, but all the same, I need something else to fall back on. I also need another job because I totalled my car a while back and had to buy a new one, and now I have car payment.
3.) I acquired fanged beasts. Two of the little monsters. The neighborhood where the kid lives is home to a stray that is regularly and frequently visited by the kitten fairy, and this last time, the kid's relatives caught the kittens and tried to catch the mother so they could get her spayed. I don't know if they ever caught her, but they took two of the kittens and I got the other two. They're downstairs as I type this, in a food coma. However, because pets aren't allowed where my partner and I live, we have to keep it stealthy. We keep beasts in secret, and my mother has agreed to lie and say we're just keeping them for her for a while if any of our neighbors tattle.
4.) Speaking of my mother, who as some here may remember is a sick, weak, feeble old lady... Well, she's getting remarried. My dad died two years ago, and my mom's best friend died back in December. She's marrying her best friend's widower. They've known each other for a long time, and she tells me that when you reach your 60's, in poor health, you really just don't have the luxury of time any more. The wedding is planned for December. I think it's a good match... My mom recently had to have surgery, and the groom-to-be -- a very tall, very large man of a certain age with a biker beard -- was doing the peanut-butter-jelly-time dance at the foot of her bed to cheer her up.
So, yes, it's been quite busy here lately.

to both of them, and you.
I'll have two 80 hour internship quarters and two 280 hour internship quarters, one of which includes a period of full-time 40-hour weeks. I'll have to take a leave of absence at my job; not sure how I'll manage the lack of income during that time but I have a couple years to figure it out for now. So yeah, that's gonna be fun when the time comes. Good luck with yours!
