  • Crazy Packaging

So I ordered from a site online just recently. I got 60x4 of different color LEDs. They came inside a plastic envelope. Inside the envelope was the thin packing foam you get sheets of, then inside is 4 smaller plastic envelopes, now here's the weird part and annoying part. Each LED is individually wrapped. Yep 240 little lights each inside their own tiny little bag, this is going to be a mess.

While I imagine that none of them were likely to be damaged .... That is a bit insane. They probably would have been better off packaging them in foam trays o_O Doesn't exactly sound like something one would commonly order only 1 or 2 of.

      I've seen some fun ones.

Hewlett Packard will ship sticks of RAM (which measures about 3.5in x 1.5in) in 3 layers of boxes with the last one able to ship a laptop in.

Lexmark at one point shipped their SD cards (approx 1.5in x 1in) in an 8.5x11 bubble packaging (aka the hand slicer garbage) as a means to prevent theft. Never mind the fact that a quick hand with a knife could take the card and the packaging was so large it was impossible to secure short of locking it in a cabinet.

I should be clear, each LED is not inside 3 different layers each but they are each inside their own tiny little bag inside the big envelopes together
