I am a nerd. I am a member of a 'gaming club', a place where nerds (like me) can go and play table-top RPG's, model army games (Warhammer, etc.), cards (Magic the Gathering), board games, and just plain hang around.

(Keeps me off the streets, y'know?)

One of the younger members of the club is the daughter of a guy I went to high school with. She just got married to another guy at the club.

Recently read that the Peanuts Christmas special will be 50 years old next year.

Yeah. And I've watched it every year since it began.

OH HELL YEAH!!!!! I was 5 years old when it first came on TV and I still manage to watch it every year (now on DVD but still) HECK I have the original sound track album (12 inch vinyl AND the delux edition CD).

My most recent (yesterday) 'dagnabbit I'm old' moment was reading the caption under a video on my newfeed. The THIRTY YEAR boxset of The Pogues comes out this year.

The fact that I'm the same age of the father of the last girl I was involved with. Relax, folks, I'm not a pedophile--she was 24.

Keep in mind, the only part of that that made me feel old was when I stopped to realize her father (who I know) and I are the same age. The actual being involved with her part made me feel young.

It kind of freaked me out a little while back when I figured out that the length of time between the end of WWII and my birth year is less than my current age.

I'm old enough to be the mother of quite a few of my coworkers. Then again quite a few of my coworkers are old enough to be my mother. One of the bartenders is 71 and that woman works circles around the young folks. All I can say is that I hope to be going half as strong when I'm her age.

Another thing that makes me feel old is seeing a really cute new fashion in clothes or makeup and then I think, "Nah, not at my age."

Now, I DID just buy nailpolish with a bit of glitter in it and age be damned.....but I had to! It's a locally-made product!!

Does going to the mart of walls and calling most of the girls clothing "Streetwalker clothes (nicer term)" count? I don't, much, but that is how my mom refers to preteen and teenage girls' clothes.
