Fantastic! I loved it. Best Marvel movie to date (and best of the year too).

Can't wait to go see it again on Imax in Vegas in a week or so.

Very tight acting and story, the exposition is just long enough to move things along, the classic music cues in general are perfect, the Checkov Guns all go off at the right time with just enouhg of a twist to be fun (other than the ones that are teasers for the next movies).

And Rocket and Groot stole the show. Loved all the touches and especially how they seemed to be part of the setting and not just a CGI element. (Especially loved the touch of Rocket having bedhead when he woke up).

StarLord was great too; coming across as a normal guy thrown/growing up in extraordinary situations.

And I loved their take on Yondu in general. Still loved 31st Century Yondu, but this one was great too, and I hope he shows up in the books too. Loved their take on the Centauri arrows.

Nebula was a bit underused, and Ronan did end up coming off as a miniboss before the big boss in the next movie(s), but still things were done smartly.

I loved how they set them up to be tied in though. That was awesome!

        But...the after credits shot....

They're not honestly going to reboot him are they?

Saw it last night. Scene with his mom hit me hard (mom is going through cancer right now) whispered yell at hubby for not warning me. He said he didn't know that was coming.

Love the rest of the movie. They picked the right people. And now the end of Avengers makes sense. Can't wait to see if they show up in Avengers 2 at the end of the credits. Though they could be setting up for a hell of an Avengers 3 (both groups together)

And anyone born after the mid 1970s will not get that reference at the end of the credits. Also I didn't know that was a comic by Marvel.

Took my fiance to see it. I didn't know anything about the comics but it was still really, really good.

Some idiot woman brought a baby with her. The movie started at 11:10pm. That should be illegal. We specifically went that late because of crap like that.

Planning on seeing it once my vacation starts...I hadn't really been all that excited about it, but I've heard so many good things that I think I need to partake now.

that character was in the quite recent marvel zombies vs. army of darkness.

I think you're kicking the wrong person.

mentioning two comics and saying, "this happened in the comic, but didn't in the movie" and "that character is also in another more recent comic, along with numerous others" can't really be called a spoiler.

The mom thing is from 1968, and star lord's backstory took numerous issues to cover, it gets under 5 minutes in the movie, and there's a multitude of things that they could do other than what happened in the comic and they aren't going to waste a *huge* reveal on that. I said nothing about what may or may not have happened, just what the comics did 46 years ago.

There's literally *tons* of characters from the marvel universe in marvel zombies, I could easily name about two dozen . though I wasn't the one mentioning that the character had already had a movie.

the end scene was completely unexpected. I knew that the character was Marvel, but I would never have expected to see him. And I sincerely hope that they aren't making a movie with him...not really fond of that character to begin with.
I don't think they are. I think it was more a matter of Marvel wants to basically call "dibs" on as many of their properties as they can, so Fox/Sony/etc. don't try to get their hands on any others. (Though now those other studios would have to go through the Almighty Disney to do it.) So they snuck in that cameo to place their "dibs," because, let's face it, where else in the MCU would that character have fit?

When that cameo popped up, the entire theater (those who hadn't already left) burst out laughing and cheering, actually, and I heard quite a few astonished "Woooow!"'s from the moviegoers, and I was one of them.

Why do people leave? Haven't they learned the lesson of Marvel movies?

And I laughed at the end scene myself. And agree on the dibs things. Remember, it's the "Age of Miracles", not "Mutants". Thanks Fox!

There is a matter of calling "Dibs" on the character. It's partly why I suspect Marvel keeps revisiting AoA, 31st Century Guardians, M2, etc.... to keep their rights up to date on them as well.

Still, for the cameo, I think it's also a matter of it being a nod to the 80's like the spirit of the movie in general. While it might open the door for a new movie with him, I think it's mainly just a chance to nod to Marvel's first few movies, bad though they may be. (End Spoiler)

Yeah but they didn't specifically say what it was ;p At least it didn't give away the major plot. I can deal with that hehe. *unkick*
