Corollas tend to go on forever. My '07 might not have seen 100,000 miles yet, but it's going to have to last until well after that. Other than a brake job, I've had to do very little. But, it is going to need some cosmetic attention soon. There's a scab on the roof where a pigeon shit on it. Rather than spend hundreds on it at a shop, I'll be pulling out the wire brush and doing it myself.
My '09 Hyundai Accent JUST got a new battery installed -- and this was it's first battery, I was still using the original one until it died. Outside of a new tire (my fault entirely with that one, damn curbs ) that's all I've done to it so far, like yours it'll need some cosmetic work to it but even that is a bit off. I do want to get a stereo put in since I can get an awesome deal while spending $1200 less then what I would've gotten if one was already installed.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I'm slowly training Al on saving money here and there and he's doing the same in return (we both have different vices). He's been so used to overspending due to his sister (a first class championship moocher) that he's amazed at all the extra money when your electric bill is down by more than 2/3 as well as the water bill.

      It amazed me too.

I'm still using my original battery. It's getting replaced in the spring, since the car sometimes doesn't like starting in extreme cold. 5 years is about the average life of a car battery. Over time, they do wear out...so 7 years is pushing my luck. When we had several weeks of subzero weather last winter, the car sat outside, and was a royal bitch to start. It always fired up...but that was only because the car was out of the wind--I'd pull all the way up to the door, so the car was under the roof overhang. Just enough to keep it covered

I wish they had them when I was in HS. Would've saved me from a lot of problems later on.
